Recipe:
- Build in serving glass
- 5 oz. white rum
- 5 demerara sugar cubes
- 4 oz. club soda
- 20ish leaves of fresh mint
- 1.5 oz. fresh lime juice
- Add rum and mint leaves to glass and muddle
- Add remaining ingredients and muddle until sugar is dissolved
- Add crushed ice and stir for 15 seconds to fully chill
- Top off with additional crushed ice
- Garnish with fresh mint leaves
Why it works:
By muddling the mint leaves with the rum first, it prevents the leaves from turning brown. The demerara sugar can be replaced, however it allows this drink to be what it was meant to be.
